*It Was built in 1887, the house was constructed when Victor Gaston’ wife died and during that time when he was residing in his father’s hacienda, Hacienda Buen Retiro
*It Was originally the ancestral house of Victor F. Gaston
*The structure housed Victor Gaston and his twelve child ren from 1901 until his death in 1927 left used by the family, the structure was abandoned in the mid 1970’s
*In 1992, Msgr. Guillermo Ma. Gaston donated the the victor gaston house to the Philippine Tourism Authority
*In March 8, 1994 the house is proclaimed a heritage of the National Historical Institute of the Philippines
*Today ,The Victor Fernandez Gaston Ancestral House also known as “Balay Negrense” a Museum In Silay
*It is notable for being the first Museum to be established in ńthe province of Negros Occidental
